Heat Treatment Temperature Effect on Wettability of Laser-Machined Aluminum Surface

Summary: This study focuses on the preparation of superhydrophobic surfaces on metal by nanosecond laser etching and heat treatment. It was found that heat treatment can promote the transition from superhydrophilic to superhydrophobic surface and shorten the transition time. Fabrication of Superhydrophobic Zn-Ni Coatings on LA43M Magnesium Alloy

Summary: Superhydrophobic Zn-Ni coatings with porous microstructures were prepared on LA43M Mg alloys substrate. The effects of Ce-2(SO4)(3) concentrations on the coating structure and wettability were studied. The results showed that the coatings had high contact angles and could effectively improve the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys.

Polydopamine/SiO2 Hybrid Structured Superamphiphobic Fabrics with Good Photothermal Behavior

Summary: This study reports a simple and effective method for constructing a self-cleaning photothermal superamphiphobic fabric. SiO2 nanoparticles were grown on the polydopamine-coated fabric surface, creating micro-nano rough structures. The surface of SiO2 was modified to decrease the fabric surface energy, resulting in superamphiphobicity. The modified fabric showed resistance to contamination by water, common beverages, and oil, as well as excellent mechanical robustness and harsh environmental stability. Additionally, the surface temperature of the fabric increased under simulated sunlight.

Role of incorporation of ZnO nanoparticles on corrosion behavior of ceramic coatings developed on AZ31 magnesium alloy by plasma electrolytic oxidation technique

Summary: Ceramic coatings were deposited on AZ31 magnesium alloys using PEO technique, and the addition of ZnO nanoparticles improved the corrosion resistance of the coatings in Hank's solution. The best results were obtained with an electrolyte containing 6 g/l ZnO nanoparticles, showing a corrosion current density of 0.08 mu A/cm(2) and a corrosion potential of -1.4615 V-Ag/AgCl. Additionally, EIS results indicated a corrosion resistance of 1.05 x 10(6) Omega.cm(2) for the mentioned coating.

Bio-based polybenzoxazine superhydrophobic coating with active corrosion resistance for carbon steel protection

Summary: A bio-based benzoxazine synthesized from cardanol was used to develop a superhydrophobic polybenzoxazine double-layer coating, consisting of an active anti-corrosive primer and a superhydrophobic topcoat for carbon steel protection. The coating showed outstanding anti-corrosion performance after exposure to extreme temperatures and abrasion, maintaining its superhydrophobicity even after 60 days of treatment. Additionally, electrochemical measurement results indicated excellent corrosion resistance after 90 days of immersion in NaCl solution.
