Hierarchical Integration of Organic Core/Shell Microwires for Advanced Photonics

Hong-Tao Lin et al.

Summary: Hierarchical organic microwires with branch, core/shell, and branch core/shell structures are successfully constructed based on organic charge transfer cocrystals. These structures can be used as optical logic gates with multiple encoding features, demonstrating the potential for creating new types of organic microstructures for integrated optoelectronics.

Lattice-mismatch-free growth of organic heterostructure nanowires from cocrystals to alloys

Qiang Lv et al.

Summary: The authors report a new method for the synthesis of organic triblock nanowires via a lattice mismatch-free strategy. By changing the stoichiometric ratio of different components, the length ratio of different segments of the nanowires can be precisely regulated. This study provides a new approach for the large-scale synthesis of organic heterostructure nanowires and facilitates their applications in organic optoelectronics at the micro/nanoscale.

Hierarchical Self-Assembly of Organic Core/Multi-Shell Microwires for Trichromatic White-Light Sources

Ming-Peng Zhuo et al.

Summary: A hierarchical self-assembly approach is demonstrated for the fine synthesis of organic core/mono-shell microwires and core/double-shell microwires with multicolor emission, utilizing noncovalent interactions between organic semiconductor molecules. These structures offer potential applications in full-color displays and portable display devices, providing a novel avenue for the accurate construction of organic core/shell heterostructures.

Effect of thickness and temperature on flexible organic P3HT:PCBM solar cell performance

Mahmoud N. Zidan et al.

Summary: A bulk heterojunction organic solar cell using a blend of P3HT and PCBM as the photoactive layer was simulated, showing varying optical and electrical performance at different operating temperatures with better efficiency in flexible devices. The study also revealed that a maximum power conversion efficiency is achieved with a 220 nm thick active layer and reducing the thickness of ITO and PEDOT: PSS layers can minimize optical losses.
