Adsorptive removal of synthetic plastic components bisphenol-A and solvent black-3 dye from single and binary solutions using pristine pinecone biochar

Ranjit Gurav et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the adsorptive removal of bisphenol-A and solvent black-3 from single and binary solutions. The results show that the pristine pinecone biochar produced at 750 ? demonstrated greater removal of bisphenol-A. The experimental data was best fitted to the Elovich and pseudo-second-order kinetic models for single-component and binary solution, respectively. The Langmuir isotherm model showed the highest regression coefficient values and adsorption capacity for both bisphenol-A and dye removal.

Highly-efficient nitrogen self-doped biochar for versatile dyes' removal prepared from soybean cake via a simple dual-templating approach and associated thermodynamics

Xinyu Zhang et al.

Summary: A dual-templating strategy was used to synthesize nitrogen self-doped biochar (NSB) from soybean cake, which exhibited enhanced adsorption capacity for dyes, especially anionic dyes. The NSB had high specific surface area and retained high adsorption capacity after multiple cycles, providing a framework for efficient dye removal from wastewater.

Adsorptive removal of AB113 dye using green synthesized hydroxyapatite/magnetite nanocomposite

Shraddha Pai et al.

Summary: In this study, magnetite nanoparticles synthesized using Thunbergia grandiflora leaf extract were doped with hydroxyapatite sourced from waste bivalve clamshells to produce a hydroxyapatite/magnetite nanocomposite. The nanocomposite showed a crystalline phase and irregular spherical particles. The presence of specific elements and functional groups was confirmed by EDAX and FTIR analysis. The composite exhibited a high adsorption efficiency for anionic dyes in wastewater.

Dye removal by laccase-functionalized micromotors

Murat Uygun et al.

Summary: Laccase-based micromotors were synthesized and used for decolorization of azo dyes in textile wastewater, showing improved dye removal capacity compared to the free enzyme approach. The stability of the immobilized enzyme was enhanced, resulting in higher decolorization efficiencies of 76-94% compared to 34-55% using free enzyme.
