Berberine governs NOTCH3/AKT signaling to enrich lung-resident memory T cells during tuberculosis

Isha Pahuja et al.

Summary: Berberine (BBR) enhances host defense mechanisms against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb) and stimulates the differentiation and expansion of specific effector memory T cells, leading to improved protection against tuberculosis (TB) infection.

Withaferin A Protects against Primary and Recurrent Tuberculosis by Modulating Mycobacterium-Specific Host Immune Responses

Anjna Kumari et al.

Summary: This study explores the immunomodulatory potential of withaferin A (WA) as an immunotherapeutic against tuberculosis (TB). WA can restrict the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis by enhancing host immune responses and can be used in combination with isoniazid. WA directs host macrophages towards defensive polarization and enhances T(H)1 and T(H)17 immune responses against M. tuberculosis infection.
