General Method for Pesticide Recognition Using Albumin-Based Host-Guest Ensembles

Tianyi Qin et al.

Summary: The widespread use of pesticides has led to serious consequences for the environment and public health. Current fluorescence methods for pesticide detection have limited universality and can only detect a few specific pesticides. In this study, researchers developed a multicolor albumin-based host-guest ensemble that can universally and accurately identify most common pesticides, enabling on-site determination in practical settings.

Ratiometric Fluorescent Lateral Flow Immunoassay for Point-of-Care Testing of Acute Myocardial Infarction

Jing Wang et al.

Summary: A highly sensitive ratiometric fluorescent lateral flow immunoassay strip was developed for the rapid and accurate detection of the acute myocardial infarction biomarker, H-FABP. By utilizing a custom smartphone-based analytical device and tonality analysis, quantitative detection of H-FABP with a low limit of detection was achieved. The visually distinguishable color change on the strip around the threshold concentration of H-FABP enables semi-quantitative diagnosis by the naked eye.
