This study demonstrates that the electron transfer mechanisms involving iron minerals change with the mineral crystallization process, which would affect the geochemical process of contaminants with pyrogenic carbon.

Arsenic-XAS results showed a higher fraction of solid-phase arsenite in the presence of organic matter.
