Summary: In this study, three experimental devices were used to compare the treatment effect of ciprofloxacin pollutants in wastewater. The results showed that the constructed wetland-microbial fuel cells with new iron-carbon fillers (TPFC) had higher efficiency in removing total phosphate and ciprofloxacin, as well as higher power generation capacity. This may be attributed to the higher abundance of microorganisms and copies of the resistance gene qnrs. TPFCs are a promising method for removing ciprofloxacin in wastewater.
