Analysis of Chemical Constituents of Traditional Chinese Medicine Jianqu before and after Fermentation Based on LC-MS/MS

Yishuo Wang et al.

Summary: The objective of this study was to detect the chemical constituents in Jianqu samples under different fermentated states using UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS technology, conduct preliminary analyses, and establish an HPLC method for the simultaneous determination of hesperidin and naringenin in Jianqu, and compare the variation of the two components during fermentation.

Hydrogen Repairs LPS-Induced Endothelial Progenitor Cells Injury via PI3K/AKT/eNOS Pathway

Qingjie Mu et al.

Summary: This study found that hydrogen can repair the proliferation, migration, and tube formation dysfunctions of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced bone marrow-derived endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs). This repairment is mediated by the PI3K/AKT/eNOS signaling pathway.

The Efficacy of Li-ESWT Combined With VED in Diabetic ED Patients Unresponsive to PDE5is: A Single-Center, Randomized Clinical Trial

Rongzhen Tao et al.

Summary: This study investigated the efficacy of low intensity extracorporeal shock wave treatment (Li-ESWT) combined with vacuum erectile device (VED) in patients with diabetes mellitus-induced erectile dysfunction (DMED) who were non-responsive to phosphodiesterase type 5-inhibitors (PDE5is). The results showed that the combination therapy was more beneficial in improving erectile function in moderate DMED patients compared to VED or Li-ESWT monotherapy. This study suggests that alternative physiotherapy options such as Li-ESWT or VED can be considered before invasive alternatives for patients who failed after taking oral PDE5is.

Human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells ameliorate erectile dysfunction in rats with diabetes mellitus through the attenuation of ferroptosis

Huan Feng et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that HUCMSCs can effectively and safely alleviate erectile dysfunction in T1DM and T2DM ED rats by attenuating diabetes-induced ferroptosis in CCSMCs. Furthermore, it provides significant evidence for the development of HUCMSCs as a viable therapeutic strategy for DMED.

Network pharmacology integrated molecular docking reveals the bioactive components and potential targets of Morinda officinalis-Lycium barbarum coupled-herbs against oligoasthenozoospermia

Xue Bai et al.

Summary: The study found that the traditional Chinese medicine Morinda officinalis-Lycium barbarum coupled-herbs is effective in treating oligoasthenozoospermia (OA), with key bioactive components including Ohioensin-A, quercetin, beta-sitosterol and sitosterol. In the treatment of OA, the herbal medicine can alleviate apoptosis, promote male reproductive function, and reduce oxidant stress.

Shrijana Shakya et al.

Summary: Fermentation of the herbal extract with the plant-derived lactic acid bacterial strain led to the generation of a new bioactive compound, pyrogallol, which exhibited dose-dependent inhibition of inflammatory responses. This suggests that it may be a practical strategy to produce medicines and supplements for healthcare.
