Difference of Soil Aggregates Composition, Stability, and Organic Carbon Content between Eroded and Depositional Areas after Adding Exogenous Organic Materials

Mingzhao Han et al.

Summary: Adding straw and swine manure can effectively improve soil aggregate stability and soil quality in black soil in northeastern China, while adding biochar is more suitable for increasing the content of aggregates. These organic materials can also significantly increase the total organic carbon content in the soil.

Assessment of natural and anthropogenic factors on the distribution of chemical elements in soil from the Skopje region, North Macedonia

Trajce Stafilov et al.

Summary: The objective of this study is to present the distribution of different chemical elements in soil samples from the Skopje region, North Macedonia. Soil samples from 60 locations were collected and analyzed for 69 elements using instrumental methods. The results showed that the distribution of most elements follows the lithology of the area, except for some elements which have higher contents in the urban area of Skopje due to urban and industrial activities.

Effect of industrial crop Jerusalem artichoke on the micro-ecological rhizosphere environment in saline soil

Tianyun Shao et al.

Summary: This study explored the modification effect of in-situ Jerusalem artichoke cultivation on the rhizosphere micro-ecological environment in the saline-alkali region. It was found that Jerusalem artichoke can improve the physical structure of saline soil, increase carbon and nitrogen fixation in soil, and promote the biogeochemical cycle of other elements in the soil.

Effects of planting Melia azedarach L. on soil properties and microbial community in saline-alkali soil

Na Li et al.

Summary: Planting Melia azedarach can reduce salt content and increase organic matter and nutrient levels in saline-alkali soils, improving soil enzyme activity and enhancing the diversity and richness of soil microbial communities. The structure of rhizosphere microbial communities is influenced by soil properties and enzyme activities, which contributes to the remediation and amelioration of saline-alkali soils.
