Ultrahigh recovery rate of nitrate from synthetic wastewater by Chlorella-based photo-fermentation with optimal light-emitting diode illumination: From laboratory to pilot plant

Qingke Wang et al.

Summary: By using Chlorella pyrenoidosa-based photofermentation method, with warm white LED illumination, it is possible to achieve ultrahigh recovery rates of nitrate and phosphate from synthetic wastewater, while increasing biomass yield and nutrient recovery. This study demonstrated that the photo-fermenter with inner warm white LED illumination is a superhigh-efficient system that plays an important role in wastewater bioremediation.
