Optical reflectance studies on the oxidation of chemisorbed sulfur at the Pt(111) electrode

Lasse Kattwinkel et al.

Summary: The oxidation of chemisorbed sulfur on Pt(111) in 0.1 M H2SO4 was studied using a combination of electrochemical and in situ optical reflectance techniques. The study provides insights into the intermediate steps of the sulfur oxidation process and observes features related to sulfur oxidation. By potential cycling, the adsorbed sulfur adlayer can be gradually removed, resulting in a negligibly small sulfur coverage.

Defective graphene nanosheets with heteroatom doping as hydrogen peroxide reduction catalysts and sensors

Su-Yang Hsu et al.

Summary: The study showed that dGN with N and O atom as the electron acceptor for C atom had higher specific activities in terms of electrochemical surface areas, while S-doped dGN exhibited low activity possibly due to the low bond polarity between C and S atom. The physical adsorption of hydrogen peroxide on the carbon catalysts limited the reaction kinetics, further influencing the reaction efficiency.

Efficient sensing of hydrogen peroxide via electrocatalytic oxidation reactions using polycrystalline Au electrode modified with controlled thiol group immobilization

Anim Dutta et al.

Summary: The study shows that selectively blocking the Au(110) and Au(100) sites on a Polycrystalline Au electrode with thiol group adsorption in an alkaline medium can significantly improve the oxidation performance of hydrogen peroxide, enabling quick detection. By using cysteine molecules as the source of thiol functional groups, a highly sensitive sensor with a wide linear dynamic range has been successfully developed.

Summary: The study demonstrates the influence of electrodeposition of silver particles on the shape and amount of silver deposits, as well as the electrocatalytic performance of synthesized silver particles. The silver particle electrodes prepared under different conditions show high sensitivity and accuracy in detecting H2O2.
