Linear and fully decoupled scheme for a hydrodynamics coupled phase-field surfactant system based on a multiple auxiliary variables approach

Junxiang Yang et al.

Summary: In this paper, a linear, fully decoupled, and energy stable finite difference scheme is proposed for solving a phase-field surfactant fluid system. Inspired by the idea of multiple scalar auxiliary variables, the original governing equations are transformed and solved efficiently. Computational simulations confirm the accuracy, energy stability, and effectiveness of the proposed method for simulating surfactant-laden droplet dynamics.

Totally decoupled implicit-explicit linear scheme with corrected energy dissipation law for the phase-field fluid vesicle model

Junxiang Yang et al.

Summary: A decoupled, linear, and second-order time-accurate numerical algorithm based on a time-dependent auxiliary variable methodology is proposed for solving the model of biological vesicles in a fluid environment. The algorithm enhances accuracy and consistency through energy correction techniques and solving linear elliptic equations effectively. Computational tests verify the performance of the proposed numerical algorithm.

PaScaL_TDMA: A library of parallel and scalable solvers for massive tridiagonal systems

Ki-Ha Kim et al.

Summary: This study aims to solve many tridiagonal systems in multi-dimensional partial differential equations efficiently and with reduced communication overhead. A modified Thomas algorithm and a newly designed communication scheme were used for this purpose. Benchmark tests showed significant reduction in communication time compared to global all-to-all communication methods, especially for larger problem sizes and more cores. The computational procedures were implemented in an open-source library called PaScaL_TDMA, and demonstrated good scalability on a cluster system.

Efficient boundary condition-enforced immersed boundary method for incompressible flows with moving boundaries

Xiang Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, the original boundary condition-enforced immersed boundary method is improved with the use of conjugate gradient technique and explicit technique for simulating incompressible flows with moving boundaries. The computational efficiency of the improved IBM is demonstrated to be higher than other popular IBM methods, especially the explicit technique-based IBM with a linear computational complexity. Coupled with D1Q4 lattice Boltzmann flux solver, the IBM with conjugate gradient technique and explicit technique successfully simulate two-dimensional and three-dimensional flows with second order accuracy in space.
