Effect of current on electrodeposited MnO2 as supercapacitor and lithium-ion battery electrode

Xiaoli Dai et al.

Summary: In this study, MnO2 electrodes with nanorod morphology were prepared by ultrasonic-assisted electrodeposition. It was found that the surface morphology and electrochemical performances of MnO2 were influenced by current density. The prepared electrodes exhibited high mass specific capacitance in supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries.

Microscopic Model for Cyclic Voltammetry of Porous Electrodes

Yiting Lin et al.

Summary: In this Letter, a microscopic stack-electrode model and its equivalent circuit are used to predict the cyclic voltammetry (CV) of electric double-layer formation in porous electrodes. It is found that the dimensionless combination of ωτ(n) governs the CV curves and capacitance. The model reproduces experimental CV curves with a single fit parameter and investigates the influence of pore size distribution on the charging dynamics to explain the experimental data.

Freestanding MnO2 composite electrode via an in situ growth method for asymmetric sodium-ion capacitor and hybrid capacitive electrodialysis

Jun Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, a freestanding delta-MnO2@rGO/CC composite film was prepared using an in-situ growth strategy and applied in a sodium-ion capacitor and capacitive electrodialysis cell, showing good charge capacity and capacitance retention. Ex situ experiments confirmed the Na-storage mechanism of the composite freestanding electrode, indicating its potential application in energy storage and desalination.

Laser-assisted fabrication of flexible monofilament fiber supercapacitors

Phuong Thi Nguyen et al.

Summary: Fiber supercapacitors with enhanced performance and flexibility were successfully fabricated using a laser-assisted method, integrating active electrodes, current collectors, and polymer support into a monofilament structure. The use of laser patterning enabled the creation of highly conductive layers, leading to reduced equivalent series resistance and increased specific capacitance. This unconventional structure for fiber supercapacitors shows great potential for flexible and wearable electronics applications.
