Covalent organic framework-based solid phase microextraction coupled with electrospray ionization mass spectrometry for sensitive screening and quantitative evaluation of carbamazepine and its metabolite in mice

Weini Huang et al.

Summary: In this study, an imine-linked-based covalent organic framework (TPB-TFBCOF) was synthesized and used as a solid-phase microextraction (SPME) probe for the efficient enrichment and monitoring of carbamazepine (CBZ) and carbamazepine-10,11-epoxide (CBZEP). The combination of the TPB-TFB-COF-based SPME probe and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry system (ESI/MS) enables rapid screening and sensitive monitoring of the target analytes. The method exhibits good linearity, low detection limits, high enrichment factors, and reliable repeatability.

Covalent organic framework-graphene oxide composite: A superior adsorption material for solid phase microextraction of bisphenol A

Wei Gao et al.

Summary: Novel COF-GO composite materials were synthesized and tested for ultra-trace level SPME of BPA. The extraction efficiency of TpBD-GO-2 was significantly higher than TpBD and GO, leading to improved detection and quantification limits for BPA analysis.

Electro-enhanced solid-phase microextraction with covalent organic framework modified stainless steel fiber for efficient adsorption of bisphenol A

Yue-Hong Pang et al.

Summary: In this study, electro-enhanced solid-phase microextraction (EE-SPME) and covalent organic framework (COF) were employed to enhance the extraction efficiency of bisphenol A (BPA). The DQTP bonded fiber coupled with EE-SPME device showed higher extraction efficiency compared to conventional SPME. Quantitative determination of BPA in food packagings was achieved with recoveries ranging from 88.6 to 118.0%.

Sample preparation and instrumental methods for illicit drugs in environmental and biological samples: A review

Xinlv Chen et al.

Summary: The paper reviews recent developments and applications of sample preparation techniques for detecting illicit drugs in solid, liquid, and gas samples. Various traditional and modern methods such as liquid-phase extraction, microextraction techniques, and capillary microextraction were commonly used. Instrumental techniques like liquid chromatograph mass spectrometry and gas chromatograph mass spectrometry were widely applied, while ambient mass spectrometry techniques provided potential for rapid in-situ analysis.

Room-temperature controllable synthesis of hierarchically flower-like hollow covalent organic frameworks for brain natriuretic peptide enrichment

Wende Ma et al.

Summary: A facile strategy for room-temperature controllable synthesis of hierarchically flower-like hollow COFs was introduced, with the universality for synthesis validated by altering the building units. The unique morphology and properties of HFH-COFs make them promising for enrichment in biological samples, such as brain natriuretic peptide from human serum, by loading with gold nanoparticles. This work opens up a new approach for synthesis of HFH-COFs and expands their application as enrichment probes for complex biological samples.
