Effect of nonsolvent on the structures and properties of poly(arylene ether nitrile) films prepared by the phase inversion method

Dengyu Wang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the film formation mechanism and the relationship between structure and properties of PEN films through the phase inversion process using different nonsolvents. The results show that the choice of nonsolvent can change the phase inversion mechanism and the morphology of the films, while the thermal properties remain similar. Among the nonsolvents tested, ethyl acetate (EAC) yielded PEN films with the optimal properties.

Effect of functional filler morphology on the crystallization behavior and thermal conductivity of PET resin: A comparative study of three different shapes of BN as heterogeneous nucleating agents

Shimin Wang et al.

Summary: Functional fillers play a crucial role in thermally conductive polymer-based composites. However, little attention has been given to the impact of functional fillers with the same composition but different morphologies on the crystallinity of the matrix and the final thermal conductivity of the composites. In this study, different forms of boron nitride fillers were mixed with PET resin, and their effects on PET crystallization behavior and thermal conductivity were investigated. The results showed that fillers with different shapes but the same composition had varying modification effects on the crystallinity and thermal conductivity of the composites.

Joon Hur et al.

Summary: This study presents a process for forming a robust Cu adhesive layer on poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) while preserving the thermal, mechanical, and dielectric properties of PEEK. The peel strength of the Cu adhered PEEK -g-Polymer satisfies the required value for flexible copper clad laminate (FCCLs), and the dielectric loss of PEEK -g-Polymer is lower than that of commercial polyimide-based substrate.

Summary: This study investigates the water absorption properties of UHMWPE and POM under different pressures through experiments and simulations. The results show that the water absorption decreases with increasing pressure for both UHMWPE and POM within the range of 0 to 3 MPa. POM has a higher water absorption than UHMWPE, and under 3 MPa pressure, the water absorption of POM decreases by about 15.2% compared to normal pressure, while that of UHMWPE decreases by about 41.64%.
