Effects of Bi doping on structural and magnetic properties of cobalt ferrite perovskite oxide LaCo0.5Fe0.5O3

Ariful Haque et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the magnetic transition of LaFe0.5Co0.5O3 and reports the low temperature sol-gel synthesis of pure and Bi-doped La1-xBixFe0.5Co0.5O3 perovskites. The samples were characterized and it was found that Bi doping resulted in structural transition and improved grain growth and crystallinity. Magnetization measurements showed weak ferromagnetic nature of La1-xBixFe0.5Co0.5O3, which could be attributed to the canted anti ferromagnetic structure and the interaction between Fe3+ ions. The increase in magnetic transition and the lower magnetic moment with an increase in Bi content were explained by the weakening of Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction caused by structural modification and lattice distortion associated with Bi3+ ions.

Tailorable exchange bias and memory of frozen antiferromagnetic spins in epitaxial CoO(111)/Fe(110) bilayers

M. Slezak et al.

Summary: In this study, exchange bias and interfacial antiferromagnetic spin orientation in epitaxial CoO(111)/Fe(110) bilayers were investigated. Experimental results revealed that exchange bias occurs in the zero-field-cooled system and is influenced by the in-plane magnetic state of the Fe(110) sublayer and the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy of the Fe layer. The specific magnetic state chosen for the Fe sublayer can determine the axis and direction of interfacial antiferromagnetic spins after the sample is cooled.

3d Metal Doping of Core@Shell Wustite@ferrite Nanoparticles as a Promising Route toward Room Temperature Exchange Bias Magnets

Beatrice Muzzi et al.

Summary: In this study, the effect of dual-doping of Fe-(II) with Co-(II) and Ni-(II) on crystal structure and magnetic properties is investigated. The results show that Ni-Co doped iron oxide core@shell nanoparticles with high coercivity and increased antiferromagnetic ordering transition temperature close to room temperature can be obtained.

Magnetism Engineering in Antiferromagnetic β-FeOOH Nanostructures via Chemically Induced Lattice Defects

Martin Testa-Anta et al.

Summary: Elongated akaganeite nanostructures were synthesized with tunable length and aspect ratio through a hydrothermal route. The Cl(-) content determines the thermal stability and leads to the formation of uncompensated spins. Chemical exchange can manipulate the internal microstructure and enhance the saturation magnetization. This study challenges the magnetic core-shell model for nanostructured antiferromagnets.

A Spin-Valve GMR Based Sensor with Magnetite@silver Core-Shell Nanoparticles as a Tag for Bovine Serum Albumin Detection

Nur Aji Wibowo et al.

Summary: A rapid and accurate biosensing method based on magnetic nanoparticles has been proposed for monitoring the concentration of bovine serum albumin. The biosensor shows strong linear correlation, low detection limit, and the ability to acquire measurement results rapidly with low external magnetic field assistance.

Photo-controlled exchange bias in CoO@Co-Fe PBA core-shell heterostructures

Kangkang Yao et al.

Summary: In this study, researchers achieved a non-volatile light-tunable exchange bias effect in a well-designed core-shell structure of CoO and CoFe Prussian blue analogue. The exchange bias field of the hybrid can be reduced after irradiation and further increased by extending the irradiation time. Additionally, switching between two exchange bias effect states was successfully implemented by switching red and blue light irradiation.

Effect of Fe/Fe3O4 Nanoparticles Stray Field on the Microwave Magnetoresistance of a CoFeB/Ta/CoFeB Synthetic Ferrimagnet

Ekaterina Kunitsyna et al.

Summary: The study analyzes the impact of the stray field of Fe/Fe3O4 nanoparticles on synthetic ferrimagnetic structures and films with perpendicular anisotropy, proposing applications in sensor technology. Micromagnetic modeling demonstrates the distribution of magnetization and resistance under the nanoparticles, with the microwave absorption derivative serving as an indicator for magnetization switching. The detection method's sensitivity reaches 2.4 x 10(7) nanoparticles, covering the spin-valve surface, suggesting a combination of GMR sensor advantages with wireless microwave technology for detecting magnetically labeled cells.

The formation of uniform straw-like β-FeOOH nanostructures with superior catalytic performance for the degradation of Rhodamine B

Wenjie Ma et al.

Summary: Uniform straw-like beta-FeOOH nanostructures with superior catalytic performance were successfully prepared via a facile hydrothermal method. These nanostructures exhibited a wide absorption wavelength range of approximately 200-680 nm, resulting in a degradation efficiency of 90% for Rhodamine B after 9 hours, changing the solution color from pink to colorless.
