Li metal stability enhancement of Sn-doped Li2S-P2S5 glass-ceramics electrolyte

Chanhwi Park et al.

Summary: All-solid-state lithium ion batteries (ASSLIBs) are a promising next-generation lithium ion battery with high energy density and safety. Sulfide glass-ceramics electrolytes are attracting attention due to their high ionic conductivity and good mechanical deformability, but their lack of chemical and electrochemical stability under prolonged operation has been a barrier to practical use and commercialization. This study demonstrates that Sn substitution effectively enhances the chemical and electrochemical stability of Li2S-P2S5 glass-ceramics electrolytes to lithium metal.

Dual CuCl doped argyrodite superconductor to boost the interfacial compatibility and air stability for all solid-state lithium metal batteries

Bereket Woldegbreal Taklu et al.

Summary: Li-argyrodite is a promising candidate for all-solid-state lithium batteries due to its decent ductileness, high ionic conductivity, and low cost, but faces issues such as interfacial incompatibility with Li anode and dendrite growth. A CuCl dual doped Li-argyrodite sulfide (Li6+3xP1-xCuxS5-xCl1+x) prepared through a ball-mill free synthesis approach shows significant improvement in Li+ conductivity, stability, and dendrite suppression. Incorporating soft acid Cu enhances air stability and reduces H2S generation, demonstrating improved interfacial compatibility and decreased oxophilicity of the sulfide solid electrolyte.
