Synthesis of MoS2 nanotube using a sacrificial template method as advanced anode material for lithium-ion batteries

Summary: In this study, carbon nitride nanotubes were used as a template to in-situ grow ultrathin MoS2 nanosheets, and MoS2 nanotubes with a uniform tube-like structure were obtained after the removal of carbon nitride nanotubes. The hollow structure of the MoS2 nanotubes provides advantages for mass diffusion, short ion transfer distance, and alleviating volume expansion. The experimental results demonstrate that the obtained MoS2 nanotubes exhibit good cycling performance and reversible capacity.

Ultrathin ?-MnO2 nanosheets branched onto N-doped carbon nanotubes as binder-free cathode electrodes for aqueous zinc-ion batteries with a high areal capacity

Summary: This study rational synthesized a binder-free cathode material, ultrathin birnessite-type delta MnO2 nanosheets branched onto N-doped carbon nanotubes grown on a carbon cloth substrate (CC/NCNTs/delta MnO2), for aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs). The CC/NCNTs/delta-MnO2 cathode showed high electrical conductivity, large specific surface area, abundant active sites, fast ion diffusion, good structural stability, and it was free of any polymer binders. Its performance as a binder-free cathode electrode for aqueous ZIBs exhibited high areal capacity, energy density, rate capability, and cycling stability.

Near-infrared photodetectors based on unique Fe2O3 nanorod array with multi-photon excitation

Summary: This paper reports a self-powered near-infrared (NIR) photodetector based on a novel diamond randomly staggered alpha-Fe2O3 nanorod array. Study on the relationship between Bi2S3 with different morphologies and its photocatalytic hydrogen production performance

Thermoelectric properties of antimony selenide hexagonal nanotubes

Summary: Antimony selenide (Sb2Se3) hexagonal nanotubes (HNT) exhibit moderate electrical conductivity and a reasonable Seebeck coefficient of around 430 μV K-1 at 370 K. Compared to bulk materials, the electrical conductivity of Sb2Se3 HNT is about 5 orders of magnitude higher, while its thermal conductivity is only half. The calculated figure of merit (ZT) at room temperature is the highest reported in 1D structures of antimony selenide.

Fe-doped MoO3 nanoribbons for high-performance hydrogen sensor at room temperature

Summary: A series of novel ribbon-like Fe-doped orthorhombic MoO3 nanoribbons were synthesized and showed promising hydrogen sensing performance, with the size of the nanoribbons inversely related to the Fe dopant concentration. Fe doping of 6% in alpha-MoO3 exhibited excellent gas sensing properties to 500 ppm H-2 at room temperature.

Carrier type induced magnetoresistance upending in assembly of sulfur doped Sb2Se3 nanotubes

Summary: The study investigates the morphological, topographical, magnetoresistance, and thermoelectric properties of sulfur-doped Sb2Se3 nanotubes synthesized by a novel microwave-assisted solvothermal process. Electrical resistivity measurements indicate different conduction mechanisms at different temperatures, with a transition to negative magnetoresistance observed above 20 K.

Highly-Rectifying Graphene/GaN Schottky Contact for Self-Powered UV Photodetector

SnSe Nanoplates for Photodetectors with a High Signal/Noise Ratio
