Multisensor Suboptimal Fusion Student's $t$ Filter

Tiancheng Li et al.

Summary: A multisensor fusion Student's t filter is proposed for time-series recursive estimation in the presence of heavy-tailed process and measurement noises. The filter extends the single-sensor Student's t Kalman filter to the multisensor setup using the suboptimal arithmetic average (AA) fusion approach, which can handle unknown correlation among sensors. Simulation results show that the proposed multisensor AA fusion-based t filter is robust against outliers compared to the classic Gaussian estimator, and it outperforms the CI approach and augmented measurement fusion.

An Integrated Navigation Method for Small-Sized AUV in Shallow-Sea Applications

Xin Zhang et al.

Summary: The navigation and localization of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) face challenges in terms of low GPS data output frequency and susceptibility to interference. Without additional underwater absolute positioning measurements, errors in the navigation system modeling and state estimation process impact accuracy. This paper proposes an integrated navigation method for small-sized AUV in shallow-sea applications. It includes a robust GPS/AHRS/DVL navigation method for surface missions and a Multiple Model integrated navigation method for AUV underwater missions.

Zonotopic multi-sensor fusion estimation with mixed delays under try-once-discard protocol: A set-membership framework

Zhongyi Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the fusion estimation problem for a class of multi-sensor networked systems with unknown-but-bounded noises and mixed time-delays under try-once-discard protocols (TODPs). A sequential estimator is proposed to fuse the information collected from multiple channels, and the estimation error is restrained into a zonotope with minimum F-radius at each moment. The results show that the designed sequential estimator achieves the same estimation accuracy as the widely utilized parallel estimator.

Distributed resilient fusion filtering for nonlinear systems with random sensor delay under round-robin protocol

Zhibin Hu et al.

Summary: In this paper, the problem of distributed resilient fusion filtering (DRFF) is addressed for a class of nonlinear multi-sensor networked systems (MSNSs) with random sensor delay (RSD) under round-robin protocol (RRP). The resilient fusion filter is designed using the inverse covariance intersection approach, which minimizes the local upper bound of the filtering error covariance. A simulation example is presented to demonstrate the validity of the provided DRFF algorithm.
