Hybridization of Nanoclay with a Chromium-Based Metal-Organic Framework for Boosting Adsorption of Organic Dyes from Wastewater

Hossein Shahriyari Far et al.

Summary: In this study, nanoclay was decorated with chromium-based MOF (MIL-101) nanostructures to enhance its dye adsorption capacity. The modified Clay/Cr-MOF composite showed a crystalline structure with high thermal stability, as well as a large specific surface area and porosity, which are beneficial for wastewater treatment. The adsorption experiments demonstrated that the MOF-modified nanoclay had excellent adsorption capacity and selective dye removal efficiency, with the ability to be regenerated for multiple cycles.
