Fenticonazole nitrate loaded trans-novasomes for effective management of tinea corporis: design characterization, in silico study, an exploratory clinical appraisal

Rofida Albash et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to topically manage tinea corporis by loading fenticonazole nitrate (FTN), an antifungal agent with low aqueous solubility, into trans-novasomes (TNs). The TNs showed promising characteristics and effectively inhibited the growth of Trichophyton mentagrophytes. Furthermore, a clinical evaluation confirmed the superiority of TNs in the treatment of tinea corporis.

Multi-specific niflumic acid platinum(iv) complexes displaying potent antitumor activities by improving immunity and suppressing angiogenesis besides causing DNA damage

Linming Li et al.

Summary: The study focuses on developing new chemotherapeutics for anti-metastasis properties. Multi-specific NFA platinum(iv) complexes were designed, synthesized, and evaluated as novel antitumor agents with mechanisms including DNA damage, inflammation inhibition, immunity activation, and angiogenesis suppression. These complexes showed promising antitumor activities with lower toxicity and attractive anti-metastasis performance. They caused serious DNA damage, promoted apoptosis, improved immune response, and suppressed angiogenesis, making them potential anti-proliferative and anti-metastatic drugs.

Fabrication of Highly Deformable Bilosomes for Enhancing the Topical Delivery of Terconazole: In Vitro Characterization, Microbiological Evaluation, and In Vivo Skin Deposition Study

Shaimaa Mosallam et al.

Summary: The study successfully loaded the antifungal drug terconazole (TCZ) into highly deformable bilosomes (HBs) to enhance its topical delivery. The optimized HB14 formula exhibited excellent entrapment efficiency, particle size, and zeta potential, with superior inhibition of Candida albicans growth. In vivo skin deposition studies showed enhanced TCZ deposition from HB14 compared to traditional bilosomal formulas, confirming the efficacy of HBs for topical delivery of TCZ.
