Deep Learning-Based Thermal Image Analysis for Pavement Defect Detection and Classification Considering Complex Pavement Conditions

Cheng Chen et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a pavement damage detection model based on thermal-RGB fusion image, which forms the fused image through multi-source sensor information for accurate defect detection. By using pre-trained EfficientNet as the backbone architecture and generating an augmented dataset, high accuracy in pavement damage detection can be achieved.

An image-based system for pavement crack evaluation using transfer learning and wavelet transform

Sajad Ranjbar et al.

Summary: The study compared the performance of different pre-trained models in retraining DCNN based on pavement images, and proposed a new crack segmentation algorithm based on wavelet transform. The results showed that the retrained classifier models provided reliable outputs in crack detection and classification, while the developed wavelet module could segment crack pixels with high clarity.
