Regulatory Role of Nrf2 Signaling Pathway in Wound Healing Process

Ipek Suntar et al.

Summary: The process of wound healing involves a series of cellular events, with Nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) playing a crucial role in regulating cellular redox homeostasis. Bioactive compounds can accelerate cell proliferation, neovascularization, and tissue repair by promoting Nrf2 activation.

Development of an in-situ forming, self-healing scaffold for dermal wound healing: in-vitro and in-vivo studies

Swati Sharma et al.

Summary: This study developed a wound dressing based on chitosan and chondroitin sulfate, which can form a porous scaffold in-situ at the wound site, supporting cell proliferation and biofunction. Solid-state NMR, XRD, and TGA analysis confirmed the formation of a highly viscoelastic and self-healing scaffold. In vivo experiments showed enhanced wound healing efficacy with the in-situ forming CH-CS PEC.

The role of lipid-based signalling in wound healing and senescence

Vera Pils et al.

Summary: The role of lipid-based signaling in wound healing and tissue regeneration, as well as the impact of senescent cells on these processes in aged individuals, are discussed in the text. The accumulation of senescent cells with age is linked to age-related diseases and disorders, while their transient presence during wound healing can have beneficial effects in limiting fibrosis. Dysregulated synthesis of lipids in the senescent phenotype has been identified as a potential contributor to these processes.
