Transcriptome Analysis of Bread Wheat Genotype KRL3-4 Provides a New Insight Into Regulatory Mechanisms Associated With Sodicity (High pH) Tolerance

Geeta Prasad et al.

Summary: In this study, we conducted transcriptome sequencing of a highly tolerant bread wheat germplasm and identified 1980 differentially expressed genes associated with sodicity stress. GO annotation and KEGG enrichment analysis revealed important functional pathways and genes involved in sodicity response. Additionally, we identified 39 SNPs associated with sodicity stress response.

Genome-Wide Identification of DUF26 Domain-Containing Genes in Dongxiang Wild Rice and Analysis of Their Expression Responses under Submergence

Cheng Huang et al.

Summary: This study identified 85 DUF26 domain-containing genes in Dongxiang wild rice, which were unevenly distributed on chromosomes and had 18 pairs of tandem repeats. There were significant differences in gene structure and motif distribution of the DUF26 domain in different categories. The study also found 8 plasmodesmata localization proteins with a unique motif.

Inositol pyrophosphates promote the interaction of SPX domains with the coiled-coil motif of PHR transcription factors to regulate plant phosphate homeostasis

Martina K. Ried et al.

Summary: This study explores how the InsP(8)-SPX complex regulates plant Pi homeostasis by targeting the unique CC domain of PHRs. Structural analysis reveals that mutations in the CC domain affect the DNA binding capability of PHRs, resulting in constitutive Pi starvation responses.

The Pharus latifolius genome bridges the gap of early grass evolution

Peng-Fei Ma et al.

Summary: The grass family, including all commercial cereal crops, has an important role in biomass contribution in terrestrial ecosystems. The study of Pharus latifolius genome sheds light on the evolution of grasses and the significance of rho-WGD event. The slow evolution rate and contrasting diploidization patterns in Pharus and core Poaceae lineages offer insights into the biology and breeding of cereals.
