A Basic Review on Estrogen Receptor Signaling Pathways in Breast Cancer

Lea Clusan et al.

Summary: Breast cancer, the most common and deadliest cancer among women worldwide, is closely associated with estrogen signaling. Hormone therapy using antiestrogens is the standard treatment, but resistance inevitably occurs through various biological mechanisms. Understanding the estrogen pathway is crucial for the development of new therapies for hormone-dependent breast cancer. This mini-review summarizes the current literature on estrogen receptors in breast cancer, including their signalization, mechanisms of action, and clinical implications.

DNMT3A and DNMT3B in Breast Tumorigenesis and Potential Therapy

Xiaxia Man et al.

Summary: This article reviews the roles of DNMT3A and DNMT3B in breast tumorigenesis and development, discusses their SNP and mutations in breast cancer, and summarizes how they are regulated by non-coding RNAs and signaling pathways. It emphasizes that targeting the expression levels of DNMT3A and DNMT3B may be a promising therapeutic approach for breast cancer.

Low expression of miR-29a is associated with aggressive biology and worse survival in gastric cancer

Yoshihisa Tokumaru et al.

Summary: The study found that low expression of miR-29a is associated with aggressive cancer biology and worse survival in gastric cancer patients, serving as an independent prognostic biomarker of poor overall survival and disease-specific survival.
