Bandgap tuning of samarium and cobalt co-doped bismuth ferrite nanoparticles

M. M. Rhaman et al.

Summary: Research on tuning the bandgap energy of perovskite BiFeO3 (BFO) by dopants has led to the successful synthesis of samarium and cobalt co-doped BFO with crystalline structure. The study revealed a decreasing trend in particle size with increasing dopant concentration, a decrease in electrical impedance, and a significant reduction in bandgap energy, which could potentially increase the efficiency of photovoltaic cells.
