Examination of the effect of combustion chamber geometry and mixing ratio on engine performance and emissions in a hydrogen-diesel dual-fuel compression-ignition engine

Nurullah Gultekin et al.

Summary: The limited supply and negative environmental impacts of fossil fuels have driven the search for alternative energy sources. The use of hydrogen as a clean energy source in internal combustion engines can reduce emissions and provide an alternative to petroleum-derived fuels. This study highlights the importance of hydrogen ratio and combustion chamber design in engine performance and emissions, suggesting a hydrogen energy ratio between 5% and 20% and considering combustion characteristics when designing the chamber. It serves as a valuable resource for researchers working on dual fuel mode in compression ignition engines.

Simulation of the operation of a gas turbine installation of a thermal power plant with a hydrogen fuel production system

G. E. Marin et al.

Summary: The demand for heat and electricity production requires increased fuel consumption in power equipment, with gas turbine units being the most sought-after thermal equipment. Gas turbines can burn various fuels, but the main fuel is natural gas. The use of alternative fuels can reduce CO2 and NOx emissions during gas turbine operation. Incorporating 5% hydrogen into natural gas has minimal impact on the gas turbine design and requires only minor adjustments to the fuel preparation system. A mathematical model of the gas turbine has been developed to study the effects of fuel gas composition on energy and environmental characteristics.

Munevver Mine Ozyetkin

Summary: In this study, an algebraic approximation method is proposed to investigate the stability analysis and time domain response of non-integer order delay systems. Additionally, a simple PID controller tuning method is presented for systems with integer order delay and non-integer order delay. The proposed method provides stable PID controller parameters based on the stability region concept, and it is compared with the weighted geometrical center method (WGC). The results show that the proposed method is advantageous in design and does not have restrictions on performance criteria.
