Two-dimensional Mo2C: An efficient promoter for hydrogen storage and release from a liquid organic hydrogen carrier

Samira Shirvani et al.

Summary: Two-dimensional Mo2C (2D-Mo2C) is reported as an effective promoter of a Pt/Al2O3 catalyst for the hydrogenation and dehydrogenation of the liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC) pair, dibenzyltoluene (DBT) and perhydro-dibenzyltoluene (H18-DBT),respectively. The addition of 6.2 wt% 2D-Mo2C significantly enhances both the hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions. The catalyst characterization shows that the addition of 2D-Mo2C increases the particle size and electron density of Pt, improving the efficiency of both reactions.

Visible-light-enhanced catalytic hydrolysis of ammonia borane using RuP2 quantum dots supported by graphitic carbon nitride

Lei Wei et al.

Summary: RuP2 quantum dots supported on g-C3N4 were prepared for efficient photocatalytic hydrolysis of ammonia borane. Visible-light irradiation significantly increased the reaction rate and reduced the activation energy. The photocatalytic hydrolysis mechanism and catalyst reusability were also investigated.

Asymmetric impact of fossil fuel and renewable energy consumption on economic growth: A nonlinear technique

Khan Baz et al.

Summary: By analyzing the time series data of Pakistan, asymmetric and nonlinear cointegration between fossil fuel, renewable energy, and economic growth was confirmed. Positive shocks had asymmetric feedback causality with economic growth and renewable energy consumption, while a symmetric bidirectional hypothesis was observed between fossil fuel consumption and economic growth. An asymmetrically unidirectional causal nexus was confirmed between foreign direct investment and economic growth.

Effect of precursor on the hydrogen evolution activity and recyclability of Pd-Supported graphitic carbon nitride

Ron Shirman et al.

Summary: The examination of different precursors for graphitic carbon nitride (GCN) synthesis and its catalytic activity in hydrogen production from potassium formate showed that the catalyst prepared from urea, Pd-GCN(U), exhibited superior catalytic activity and stability over multiple cycles compared to the other precursors. This difference in performance is attributed to the high surface area and pore volume of Pd-GCN(U).

Hydrogen carriers: Production, transmission, decomposition, and storage

Dionissios D. Papadias et al.

Summary: This study recognizes the potential of liquid hydrogen carriers in overcoming limitations in hydrogen transportation and storage. Methanol has a lower production cost compared to ammonia and MCH, while ammonia has a smaller transmission cost and lower decomposition cost. As demand increases, the levelized cost of hydrogen distribution decreases.
