Examining the correlation between Altmetric Attention Score and citation count in the gynecologic oncology literature: Does it have an impact?

Andrew J. Chi et al.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the correlation between Altmetric Attention Score (AAS) and traditional bibliometrics in gynecologic oncology literature. Findings showed a strong positive relationship between AAS, citation count, and journal impact factor, with higher impact journals associated with increased social media visibility and attention. Results suggested that early online attention scores like AAS may help predict future citation counts for oncology publications in general and gynecologic oncology specifically.
