Summary: This study compares the effects of family-based treatment (FBT) and long inpatient multimodal treatment (IMT) in youth with anorexia nervosa (AN). The results reveal limitations in comparing the two treatments due to differences in patient baseline characteristics, measurement methods, and initial weight recovery velocity. The development of standardized criteria is needed to allow for more accurate comparisons and evaluations.
