Complete Laparoscopic Interval Debulking Surgery for Advanced Ovarian Cancer Achieves Similar Survival Outcomes to Open Approach: A Propensity-Matched Study

Lise Lecointre et al.

Summary: This study compared the outcomes of laparoscopic interval debulking surgery (IDS) with laparotomy for advanced ovarian cancer. The results showed no significant difference in overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) between laparoscopy and laparotomy. However, laparoscopy was associated with fewer postoperative complications, shorter hospital stay, and better OS.

Comparison of Laparoscopic and Open Surgery for Women With Early-Stage Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

Xuting Ran et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the oncologic outcomes of laparoscopy and laparotomy in the management of early-stage ovarian cancer patients. The results showed that there is no difference in prognosis between laparoscopic and open surgery in women with stage I epithelial ovarian cancer. Laparoscopic treatment is safe and feasible for these patients.

Intraoperative Rupture of the Ovarian Capsule in Early-Stage Ovarian Cancer

Shayan Dioun et al.

Summary: Intraoperative ovarian capsule rupture is associated with decreased progression-free survival and overall survival in women with early-stage ovarian cancer undergoing initial surgical management, as indicated by a systematic review and meta-analysis of high-quality observational studies.

Primary Laparoscopic Surgery Does Not Affect the Prognosis of Early-Stage Ovarian Clear Cell Cancer

Sheng Yin et al.

Summary: This retrospective study investigated the impact of different surgical approaches on the prognosis of early-stage ovarian clear cell carcinoma (OCCC) patients, and found that primary laparoscopic surgery did not compromise survival. Further well-designed randomized controlled trials are warranted to confirm these findings.
