Pollution and health: a progress update

Richard Fuller et al.

Summary: The Lancet Commission on pollution and health reported that pollution was responsible for 9 million premature deaths in 2015, making it the world's largest environmental risk factor for disease and premature death. Updated data from 2019 shows that pollution is still responsible for approximately 9 million deaths per year, with reductions in some types of pollution offset by increases in others. Despite efforts, little progress has been made in addressing pollution, particularly in low-income and middle-income countries.

An Interfacing Circuit for Differential Measurement of Chalcogenide-Based Resistive Gas Sensors

J. P. Goyret et al.

Summary: The proposed circuit is capable of biasing and reading chalcogenide-based resistive gas sensors with low power consumption, a wide range of input sensing resistors, and possibility to operate under non-controlled ambient temperature. Results indicate that the circuit can read sensing resistances between 2.4 M Omega and 100 M Omega with a measurement uncertainty of 1%, with the noise of the circuit being the limiting factor of measurement accuracy. At a sensing resistance of 50 M Omega, the measurement uncertainty is below 0.05%.
