TAVI in patients with low-flow low-gradient aortic stenosis-short-term and long-term outcomes

Julius Steffen et al.

Summary: This study aimed to characterize different groups of low-flow low-gradient aortic stenosis and determine their outcomes after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). The study found that while symptoms improved in all subsets of low-flow low-gradient patients after TAVI, these patients still had a higher 3-year mortality rate compared to high-gradient patients.

TAVR in nonagenarians: An analysis investigating safety, efficacy, symptomatic improvement, and long-term survival

Magda Zadrozny et al.

Summary: This study examined the safety and efficacy of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) in patients aged 90 years and older with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis. The results showed that TAVR procedure is equally safe and feasible in patients aged 90 years or older compared to younger patients, with differences in 2-year survival appearing to be patient-related rather than procedure-related.
