Ratiometric Thermometers Based on Rhodamine B and Fluorescein Dye-Incorporated (Nano) Cyclodextrin Metal-Organic Frameworks

Min Peng et al.

Summary: In this study, various sizes of gamma-cyclodextrin metal-organic frameworks (gamma-CD-MOFs) were designed and used as platforms for dye encapsulation, resulting in the development of the first CD-MOF-based ratiometric optical thermometer materials. Promising results were obtained using a dye combination of rhodamine B (RhB) and fluorescein (FL), with high relative sensitivities observed in the gamma-CD-MOF materials. Furthermore, a simple and effective method for preparing core-shell gamma-CD-MOFs was developed, allowing for better control of the shell growth and improved efficiency of the developed thermometers.
