Design of an efficient and selective adsorbent of cationic dye through activated carbon-graphene oxide nanocomposite: Study on mechanism and synergy

Amartya Bhattacharyya et al.

Summary: A nanocomposite of activated carbon and graphene oxide has shown significant improvement in adsorption of methylene blue dye compared to individual components, with an adsorption capacity of up to 1000 mg/g. This improvement is attributed to a combination of electrostatic attraction and adsorption through AC surface pores, making it a promising material for water decontamination.
