Summary: This paper presents a methodology for studying the mechanical behavior of complex structures made of GFRP structural members joined by adhesive connections under variable intensity loads. The fundamental equations are derived by an asymptotic approach applied on composite structures, with experimental evaluation of epoxy adhesive properties and damage evolution. Experimental results show how adhesive thickness influences strength, stiffness, and initial damage of bonded connections.
