Three new species of Duplicibothrium (Cestoda: 'Tetraphyllidea') from cownose rays in Senegal with a phylogenetic analysis of the genus

Douglas Stephan et al.

Summary: This article describes three new species of tetraphyllideans discovered on cownose rays off Senegal. The species differ from their congeners in size, number of proglottids, and locular configuration. Through genetic sequencing, the generic assignment of one species was initially unclear, but it was ultimately determined to belong to the genus Duplicibothrium. The results of this study expand our knowledge of Duplicibothrium hosts and distribution.

A synergistic, global approach to revising the trypanorhynch tapeworm family Rhinoptericolidae (Trypanobatoida)

Kaylee S. Herzog et al.

Summary: This study conducted a major revision of the tapeworm family Rhinoptericolidae through synonymy, the description of new species, and phylogenetic analysis. It led to an increase in the number of species in the genus Rhinoptericola and revealed a transatlantic distribution of one species. Methodological refinements were proposed to resolve issues of classification and non-monophyly within the Trypanorhyncha.
