Remarkable cryogenic strengthening and toughening in nano-coherent CoCrFeNiTi0.2 high-entropy alloys via energetically-tuning polymorphous precipitates

J. L. Yuan et al.

Summary: By tuning the microstructures of the nano-precipitated alloy, different types of precipitates with various morphologies and volume fractions can be obtained. The interaction between the precipitates and dislocations plays a crucial role in achieving a combination of excellent strength and plasticity.

Achieving ultra-high strength in a precipitation-hardened CoCrNi-based medium-entropy alloy with partially recrystallized microstructure and heterogeneous grains

Lu Zhang et al.

Summary: A CoCrNi-based medium-entropy alloy strengthened with ?*-Ni6(Al,Ti)Nb was prepared, showing excellent mechanical properties with a yield strength of 1.34 GPa, ultimate tensile strength of 1.55 GPa, and ductility of 9.2%. The deformation mode transitioned from stacking faults to dislocation slip during deformation, and the high strain hardening rate was attributed to the hindering effect of the ?*-Ni6(Al,Ti)Nb phase and hard-deformed non-recrystallized grains.
