Ag@Fosfd. and Ag@Fosfo. NPs were in situ prepared and functionalized using TAIm[Fosfo.] and TAIm[Fosfd.] ILs reducing agents, respectively. They exhibited smaller diameter sizes (22 nm and 18 nm) compared to those synthesized using sodium citrate (30 nm). The in situ modification resulted in large negative zeta potentials, preventing agglomeration and allowing for ease of dispersion. These nanoparticles showed prominent antibacterial, anti-colon-cancer, and antifungal properties, with greater effectiveness than samples prepared by other methods. The presence of Fosmidomycin and Fosfomycin antibiotics on their surface contributed to their stability and reduced toxicity.
Ag@Fosfd. and Ag@Fosfo. NPs were in situ prepared and functionalized by TAIm[Fosfo.] and TAIm[Fosfd.] ILs reducing agents, respectively, and were characterized by TEM, DLS, XRD, TGA, EDX, zeta potential, and UV-vis. methods. Ag@Fosfd. and Ag@Fosfo. NPs prepared by this method provide smaller diameter sizes of 22 nm and 18 nm compared to chemical methods using sodium citrate (30 nm). This in situ modification creates large negative zeta potentials and consequently their lack of agglomeration and ease of dispersion. Prominent antibacterial, anti-colon-cancer and antifungal properties were found for the Ag NPs, that was higher than the most of the samples previously prepared by other methods. The presence of Fosmidomycin as well as Fosfomycin antibiotics (as a reducing agent) on the surface of Ag@Fosfd., and Ag@Fosfo. NPs provides a negative zeta potential equal to -31 and -35 respectively, which causes stability (prevent agglomeration), and consequently reduce their toxicity. Significantly, Ag@Fosfd. and Ag@Fosfo. NPs showed antioxidant properties similar to DPPH (at similar concentrations), antifungal properties similar to AmB (at 200 ppm) and antibacterial properties similar to Fosfomycin at much lower concentrations (similar to 30 mu g/mL) as a standard- antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, respectively. Thermal stability up to about 200 degrees C and also very high stability of nanoparticles at pH > 2 during storage for 6 months at 4 degrees C, guarantees their application in different environments and conditions.
