Magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect in Dy100-xYx solid solutions

Sergey Taskaev et al.

Summary: The study investigates the magnetic properties of solid solutions of Dysprosium and Yttrium, showing that dilution of Dy magnetic subsystem by non-magnetic Y leads to a decrease in magnetization saturation and a slight reduction in isothermal magnetic entropy change in the series of Dy100-xYx (x = 0 - 15) solid solutions.

Gd induced modifications in the magnetocaloric properties of dysprosium manganites

Abinash Prusty et al.

Summary: The study investigates the structural, electronic, magnetic, and magnetocaloric properties of DyMnO3 and Dy1-xGdxMnO3. The results show that Dy0.5Gd0.5MnO3 has the best magnetocaloric properties among the samples, indicating that rare earth mixing plays a vital role in enhancing the magnetocaloric performance. This material is considered a promising candidate for magnetic refrigeration applications at cryogenic temperatures.

A metal-doped flexible porous carbon cloth for enhanced CO2/CH4 separation

Suhwan Kim et al.

Summary: In this study, a metal-doped flexible porous carbon cloth with outstanding CO2/CH4 selectivity was developed by preparing carbon cloth deposited with spherical porous carbon nanoparticles and doped with nitrogen, followed by doping with nickel. The Ni-doped carbon cloth showed both antiferromagnetic and ferromagnetic properties, contributing to better adsorption and separation performance compared to the Ni-free sample. The developed metal-decorated flexible activated carbon cloth achieved high CO2/CH4 selectivity values, making it one of the most promising porous carbon materials for gas separation applications.
