Dithiophosphonate Anchored Heterometallic (Ag(I)/Fe(II)) Molecular Catalysts for Electrochemical Hydrogen Evolution Reaction

Dilip Kumar Jangid et al.

Summary: A series of heterometallic clusters were synthesized and characterized, showing potential in water splitting activity, with longer carbon chain length and alkoxy group length leading to decreased catalytic performance. Even after stability tests and cycles, cluster 1 exhibited good catalytic durability with only a slight increase in overpotential. Density functional theory analysis supported experimental results.

Contributions of Internal Atoms of Atomically Precise Metal Nanoclusters to Catalytic Performances

Xiao Cai et al.

Summary: This minireview focuses on recent efforts to reveal the contributions of the internal atoms or vacancies of nanocluster catalysts to the catalytic processes, including the impact of central doping of a foreign atom on catalytic activity, reversible switching of catalytic activation and inactivation by shuttling the central atom, and evolution in catalytic activity driven by structural periodicity in the inner kernels of the nanoclusters. The progress in this research area could represent a novel conceptual framework for understanding the crucial roles of internal atoms of the catalysts in tuning the catalytic properties.
