Self-Assembly of Chiral Ferrocene-Functionalized Polyoxotitanium Clusters for Photocatalytic Selective Sulfide Oxidation

Er-Meng Han et al.

Summary: By cooperatively assembling ferrocenecarboxylic acid and ketoxime ligands, the planar chirality of ferrocene was successfully incorporated into chiral polyoxytitanium clusters, which can further assemble into large ordered structures in various ways. The assembly modes can influence the photoelectric activity of the resulting clusters, providing important implications for photocatalytic reactions.

Calixarene-Protected Titanium-Oxo Clusters and Their Photocurrent Responses and Photocatalytic Performances

Chao Wang et al.

Summary: Three photosensitive tert-butylcalix[n]arene-protected titanium-oxo clusters have been successfully synthesized and characterized. The charge transfer from TBC[n] to the TiO core broadens the visible-light absorption and narrows the optical band gap of the TOCs, leading to stable photocurrent responses and excellent photocatalytic activity. Calixarene-Ti coordination proves to be an effective strategy for enhancing the visible-light absorption band and improving the photoelectric/photocatalytic performances of Ti-O materials.

Threefold Collaborative Stabilization of Ag14-Nanorods by Hydrophobic Ti16-Oxo Clusters and Alkynes: Designable Assembly and Solid-State Optical-Limiting Application

Xi Fan et al.

Summary: In this study, Ag clusters were collaboratively protected by hydrophobic Ti-oxo clusters and alkyne ligands, overcoming their inherent instability. This threefold protection resulted in superhydrophobicity and excellent ambient stability of the Ag nanoclusters, leading to solid-state optical limiting characteristics.

Polyoxotitanate Molecular Cage Featuring Four Types of Ethylenediamines: Formation Mechanism Insight from Host-Guest Interaction and Crystallographic Study

Xiaoqin Cui et al.

Summary: The research describes a new type of inorganic host material, titanium-oxide or polyoxotitanate clusters, which can encapsulate inorganic molecules or ions. A specific molecular cage, Ti-18, was found to encapsulate an entire organic ethylenediamine ion and demonstrate exceptional versatility in balancing charges and facilitating reactions. Ti-18 exhibits strong light absorption due to ethylenediamine coordination and shows superior photocatalytic activity compared to anatase TiO2.
