Battery Storage Formulation and Impact on Day Ahead Security Constrained Unit Commitment

Yonghong Chen et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the impact of battery storage formulations on the computational performance of security constrained unit commitment (SCUC). Valid inequalities are used to improve the SOC constraints. The addition of batteries to the MISO day ahead market clearing cases reveals the impact of binary variables and valid inequalities on SCUC solving time. Warm start and lazy constraint techniques are applied to improve performance and reduce computation time.

Deep Learning to Optimize: Security-Constrained Unit Commitment With Uncertain Wind Power Generation and BESSs

Tong Wu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new model for scenario-based security-constrained unit commitment (SCUC) with BESSs and solves it using a mixed-integer programming and convolutional neural network algorithm. The algorithm eliminates the need for explicitly considering the scenario-based security constraints, greatly reducing computational complexity and achieving promising results.

Hybrid Interval-Robust Adaptive Battery Energy Storage System Dispatch With SoC Interval Management for Unbalanced Microgrids

Bo Wang et al.

Summary: This paper proposes an adaptive BESS dispatch method with SoC interval management for unbalanced three-phase microgrids. The method dispatches BESS within the SoC interval using a rolling horizon procedure and utilizes a hybrid interval-robust optimization method to solve the scheduling problem. Simulation results demonstrate the high efficiency and solution robustness of the proposed method.

An Innovative Formulation Tightening Approach for Job-Shop Scheduling

Bing Yan et al.

Summary: This article introduces an innovative and systematic approach to tighten the formulations of individual parts in the data preprocessing stage, linking integer variables to binary variables and obtaining vertices of the convex hull based on LP problem vertices. This significantly improves solution quality and computational efficiency, and can be applied to other complex ILP and MILP problems with similar characteristics.
