Theoretical model and experimental investigation optically triggered hollow-cathode discharge formation

Weijie Huo et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a model to investigate the mechanism of ion space-charge formation and electron-beam generation in optically triggered discharge formation. Experimental results demonstrate that the process of positive space-charge formation plays a dominant role in HCD formation, and trigger delay is highly dependent on the seeding-electron density and applied voltage.

A Sealed-Off Pseudospark Switch With Nanosecond Stability of Triggering

Yury D. Korolev et al.

Summary: This article describes the modified version of a commercially produced pseudospark switch and its testing results, which aimed to achieve nanosecond triggering stability for multiple switches connected in parallel to a common load. The results showed that the modified switch had low triggering delay time and jitter.
