Boundary Feedback Control of a Nonhomogeneous Wind Turbine Tower With Exogenous Disturbances

Zhiji Han et al.

Summary: This article investigates the vibration and disturbance rejection problem of a wind turbine tower under external perturbations. The tower dynamics is described by a nonhomogeneous Euler-Bernoulli beam model, and the dissipativity of the system is achieved through a boundary feedback control solution. A Lyapunov-based stability analysis is conducted to demonstrate that the deflection of the tower remains uniformly bounded even in the presence of external disturbances. The extended Filippov framework and Galerkin approximation scheme are utilized to handle the existence of solutions to the system with a discontinuous control input. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Control Design for Parabolic PDE Systems via T-S Fuzzy Model

Teng-Fei Li et al.

Summary: This article investigates parabolic partial differential equations (PDEs) systems with Neumann boundary conditions via the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model. A novel fuzzy state controller is designed based on the T-S fuzzy PDE model, and new stability conditions are deduced using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) without sampling the system's nonlinear parameters. The proposed method is effective, as shown in simulation results.

Bipartite Consensus and Distributed Boundary Control for Multiple Flexible Manipulators Associated With Signed Digraph

Fengming Han et al.

Summary: This article investigates a networked multiple one-link flexible manipulators system communicating through a signed digraph, proposing a distributed boundary control protocol to achieve bipartite consensus of joint angles and vibration suppression. By introducing novel variables in the protocol to overcome flexible dynamics, the exponential stability of the reduced-order system is strictly proven and necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained through estimations of integral terms. Numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed protocol.

Motion Planning and Adaptive Neural Tracking Control of an Uncertain Two-Link Rigid-Flexible Manipulator With Vibration Amplitude Constraint

Qingxin Meng et al.

Summary: This article discusses an uncertain two-link rigid-flexible manipulator with vibration amplitude constraint, and aims to achieve its position control through motion planning and adaptive tracking approach. The motion trajectories planning for the manipulator's two links can guarantee reaching desired angles and suppress vibration, while the adaptive tracking controller enables the two links to track the planned trajectories under various uncertainties. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy and the superior performance of motion planning and tracking controller.

Adaptive Neural Network Control of a Flexible Spacecraft Subject to Input Nonlinearity and Asymmetric Output Constraint

Yu Liu et al.

Summary: This article focuses on the vibration reducing and angle tracking problems of a flexible unmanned spacecraft system subject to input nonlinearity, asymmetric output constraint, and system parameter uncertainties. A boundary control scheme is designed using the backstepping technique, with a modified asymmetric barrier Lyapunov function to ensure the output constraint is never transgressed. Neural networks are used to handle system parameter uncertainties and compensate for input nonlinearity, proving the stability of the closed-loop system based on Lyapunov analysis.

Asymmetric Input-Output Constraint Control of a Flexible Variable-Length Rotary Crane Arm

Yu Liu et al.

Summary: This article presents a control method for angle tracking and deformation suppression of a flexible variable-length rotary crane arm, using boundary controllers, S-curve acceleration and deceleration scheme, observer, and Lyapunov functions to meet asymmetric input-output constraints. The global exponential stability and uniform boundedness are analyzed using Lyapunov theory and numerical simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the control schemes.

Leader-following consensus of nonlinear singular multi-agent systems under signed digraph

Jie Ren et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the leader-following consensus problem for a singular multi-agent system with nonlinear dynamics and signed digraph topology. An algorithm is proposed to address the structural balance problem of the signed network, suitable for all types of signed graphs. Consensus conditions are established using M-matrix theory for the singular nonlinear multi-agent system, with global asymptotic stability conditions presented for structurally unbalanced signed networks.

Boundary Disturbance Observer-Based Control of a Vibrating Single-Link Flexible Manipulator

Zhijia Zhao et al.

Summary: This paper introduces two new boundary anti-disturbance control strategies to eliminate vibration, track disturbance, and determine angle position for a vibrating single-link flexible manipulator system. Through rigorous analysis with no model reduction, the derived control ensures angle positioning and bounded stability in the controlled system. By appropriately designing parameters, the simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the control performance.
