Lightweight Image Super-Resolution With Expectation-Maximization Attention Mechanism

Xiangyuan Zhu et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a lightweight single image super-resolution network, EMASRN, with an expectation-maximization attention mechanism for better balancing performance and applicability. PMSFE and HREMAB are introduced for feature extraction and capturing long-range dependencies. Experimental results demonstrate that EMASRN outperforms existing methods in terms of parameter reduction, as well as quantitative metrics and visual quality.

Blueprint Separable Residual Network for Efficient Image Super-Resolution

Zheyuan Li et al.

Summary: Significant progress has been made in single image super-resolution (SISR) recently, but the computational cost is too high for edge devices. To address this issue, the Blueprint Separable Residual Network (BSRN) is proposed, which introduces blueprint separable convolution and more effective attention modules to enhance the model performance. Experimental results show that BSRN achieves outstanding performance among existing efficient SR methods.

Fast and Memory-Efficient Network Towards Efficient Image Super-Resolution

Zongcai Du et al.

Summary: Runtime and memory consumption are crucial factors for efficient image super-resolution models on resource-constrained devices. This research proposes a lightweight network backbone that utilizes sequential network operations, optimized convolution and activation layers, and reduced feature fusion to address these concerns. Additionally, a sequential attention branch and enhanced residual block are introduced to enhance high-frequency details and accelerate network inference. The resulting fast and memory-efficient network achieves significant improvements in both runtime and memory consumption compared to state-of-the-art EISR models.
