A Wideband Circularly Polarized Magneto-Electric Dipole Antenna Array for Millimeter-Wave Applications

Lei Xiang et al.

Summary: This communication presents a wideband circularly polarized magneto-electric dipole antenna design. By arranging the electric dipoles in a 3D manner and shorting them to the ground plane at the edges, two orthogonal ME-dipole modes are well excited, resulting in a wideband circularly polarized antenna. The proposed antenna demonstrates distinctive properties, such as broad impedance and axial ratio bandwidth, stable gain, symmetrical radiation patterns, and ease of integration.

Wideband Circularly Polarized Septum Antenna Array With Ridge Gap Waveguide Feeding Network for Wireless Application

Kailai Wu et al.

Summary: A full corporate feeding 8 x 8 circularly polarized planar antenna array using septum antenna elements and a feeding network based on ridge gap waveguide (RGW) is reported. The antenna array provides widebands for both impedance and axial ratio bandwidths, and high efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed antenna array has promising performance for millimeter-wave communication systems.

Single-Layer Sequential Rotation Network in Gap Waveguide for a Wideband Low-Profile Circularly Polarized Array Antenna

Miguel Ferrando-Rocher et al.

Summary: This study presents a low-profile circularly-polarized sequential rotation fed 4x4 array antenna that operates in the Ka-band. The antenna features a single-layer sequential rotation feed network implemented using a combination of groove and ridge gap waveguides. Experimental results demonstrate that the antenna has a matching below -10 dB and a measured axial ratio below 1.3 dB in the desired band.

Novel Asymmetric T-Shaped Radiating Element for Circularly-Polarized Waveguide Slot Arrays

Jose Herranz-Herruzo et al.

Summary: Waveguide slot arrays are widely used for linearly polarized high-gain antennas. In this article, a new all-metal T-shaped radiating element is introduced to achieve circularly polarized arrays while preserving good performance. The inclusion of a parasitic arm perpendicular to the main active slot enables polarization conversion, allowing the T-shaped element to be used in arrays originally formed by metallic rectangular slots. Experimental results at 30 GHz demonstrate high design accuracy and manufacturing reliability.
