Hydrothermal synthesis of CuO/rGO nanosheets for enhanced gas sensing properties of ethanol

Fanli Meng et al.

Summary: CuO nanosheets and CuO/rGO nanocomposites were synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method and characterized. The CuO/rGO sensors showed significantly improved gas sensing performance for ethanol compared to the pure CuO sensor. The CuO/rGO-10 sensor exhibited the best gas sensing performance among the four sensors prepared, with an optimum working temperature 25 lower than that before doping, and its response value for 100 ppm ethanol at 175 degrees C was 10.54, which was 3.75 times higher than that before rGO doping. The CuO/rGO-10 sensor also demonstrated remarkable selectivity, reproducibility, and a limit of detection of 100 ppb for ethanol.

Highly sensitive and selective NO2 gas sensor fabricated from Cu2O-CuO microflowers

Na Wang et al.

Summary: Three-dimensional hierarchical Cu2O-CuO microflowers assembled by nanorods were synthesized through an environmentally friendly hydrothermal route. The Cu2O-CuO microflowers-2 sensor exhibits excellent selectivity, repeatability, and long-term stability to NO2, with fast response and recovery time, even under high humidity conditions. Such superior sensing properties can be attributed to its unique structural advantages, more surface adsorbed oxygen, and the synergistic influence between the two-phase coexistence.
