Understanding Node Localizability in Barycentric Linear Localization

Haodi Ping et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the conditions and algorithms for node localizability and distributed node detection in the barycentric linear localization (BLL) methods. It proposes the Negative Edge Inference (NEI) algorithm to strengthen the distance graph and the Recursive-3DP condition to accurately identify BLL localizable nodes. It also introduces the Path Extension and Pruning (PEP) algorithm for node detection and the Fast-PEP algorithm for efficiency improvement. Finally, a localizability-aware BLL (LABEL) method is proposed using NEI and PEP (Fast-PEP) to correctly identify localizable nodes and ensure their correct location convergence.

Flipping Free Conditions and Their Application in Sparse Network Localization

Haodi Ping et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the problem of inferring network topology using inter-node distance measurements. It proposes local flipping-free condition, global flipping-free condition, and component-based flipping free condition to disambiguate flipping ambiguities caused by separators. A disambiguating framework based on these conditions is proposed, and a residue-based weighted component stitching algorithm is used to generate global coordinates of the network.

Flexible and Resource-Efficient Multi-Robot Collaborative Visual-Inertial-Range Localization

Thien Hoang Nguyen et al.

Summary: In this paper, a UWB-aided multi-robot localization system is proposed, which is flexible and resource-efficient as it does not rely on loop closure and only requires odometry data from neighbors. A two-stage approach is presented, where the relative transformation is refined based on range and odometry data in a long sliding window, and onboard visual-inertial-range data are tightly fused in a short-term sliding window to provide more accurate local and global estimates.

Distributed Cooperative Localization Based on Bearing-Only Sensors

Qifan Yang et al.

Summary: The paper introduces a distributed cooperative localization algorithm for mobile robot groups in GPS-denied environments, utilizing interrobot communication and processing to achieve stable self-localization. The algorithm is iterative, memory-efficient, and does not require all-to-all communication. Covariance intersection is applied to the bearing measurement model in the method, showing feasibility in simulation results.

Distributed and Collaborative Localization for Swarming UAVs

Rui Chen et al.

Summary: A distributed and collaborative localization method combining super multidimensional scaling (SMDS) and GPS information has been proposed to improve the localization accuracy and robustness of swarming UAVs. The use of a low-complexity algorithm reduces computational complexity, and simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms other collaborative localization algorithms.

Distributed Formation Estimation Via Pairwise Distance Measurements

Thomas Ziegler et al.

Summary: Continuously and reliably estimating the relative configuration of robotic swarms in real-time is essential when pursuing swarm autonomy. Relying on external positioning systems like GPS or motion tracking limits the approach's generality. A distributed formation estimation approach for small UAV swarms is proposed to decouple the computational load of each agent, enabling scalability.

FairMOT: On the Fairness of Detection and Re-identification in Multiple Object Tracking

Yifu Zhang et al.

Summary: Multi-object tracking is a crucial problem in computer vision, and formulating it as multi-task learning of object detection and re-ID in a single network can lead to joint optimization of the two tasks. However, competition between the tasks needs to be addressed, and the proposed FairMOT method based on CenterNet architecture achieves high accuracy for both detection and tracking through detailed designs and empirical studies.
