Codebook Training for Trellis-Based Hierarchical Grassmannian Classification

Stefan Schwarz et al.

Summary: This paper discusses the classification of points on a complex-valued Grassmann manifold in an n-dimensional complex Euclidean space. A trellis-based hierarchical classification network is introduced, which is based on the orthogonal product decomposition of the orthogonal basis representing the m-dimensional subspace. Stochastic gradient-based training techniques are proposed by exploiting the similarity between the proposed trellis classifier and a neural network. The proposed methods are applied to important applications in wireless communication, including Grassmannian channel state information quantization in multiple-input multiple-output communications and non-coherent Grassmannian multi-resolution transmission.

Rate-Splitting Multiple Access to Mitigate the Curse of Mobility in (Massive) MIMO Networks

Onur Dizdar et al.

Summary: This study investigates the performance of RSMA in downlink multi-antenna wireless networks, considering user mobility and imperfect Channel State Information. By deriving a lower bound on the performance of RSMA and optimizing power allocation, it shows that RSMA performs better and maintains reliable multi-user connectivity in mobile deployments compared to traditional MIMO strategies.

Dimension Reduced Channel Feedback for Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Aided Wireless Communications

Decai Shen et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a scheme to reduce the channel feedback overhead in RIS-aided wireless communications by exploiting the sparsity of the BS-RIS-UE cascaded channel. The method decomposes the downlink CSI into user-independent channel information and user-specific channel information, enabling overhead sharing among different UEs.

Deep Learning-Based Robust Precoding for Massive MIMO

Junchao Shi et al.

Summary: This paper investigates downlink precoder design in massive MIMO communication systems with UPA at the base station and imperfect CSI. Utilizing channel estimates and statistical parameters, precoding vectors are designed to maximize utility function. A neural network framework reduces online computational complexity significantly while maintaining performance.

Reliable Multi-Point Transmissions Over Directional MISO TWDP Fading Channels

Stefan Schwarz et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a coordinated beamforming scheme and a greedy scheduling method for MISO TWDP fading channels to enhance reliability and maximize achievable rate of multi-point transmissions. Additionally, a transmission rate adaptation scheme for fixed size packet transmissions is proposed to support reliable and resource-efficient multi-point transmissions.
